Finding the right surgeon for your endometriosis surgery is the only way to make sure the disease is getting removed. Many of the doctors doing endometriosis surgeries are OBGYNs who have not had any additional training to be a proper surgeon. For a surgeon to be able to identify and remove endometriosis they have to go through additional training and practice. The properly training surgeon will know where to look, what to look for, and how to safely remove from any part of the body. These surgeons will have a team they work with for patients who have endometriosis is areas that require another specialist. Because the disease is so complex, it requires a high skill set to do the surgery. We will provide resources for how to find the right doctor for you and where they are located.
